There are 6 classes of fire :

  • Class A Fires – wood, paper, material etc.
  • Class B Fires – flammable liquids such as petrol, oil,       grease, fat.
  • Class C Fires – flammable gases.
  • Class D Fires – flammable metals such as aluminium, magnesium, potassium etc.
  • Class E Fires – electrical equipment.
  • Class F Fires – deep fat cooking oil.
