Event safety

Fire Officers are provided during an event and they will carry out roving patrols during events to ensure fire safety infringements are not taking place (locked or blocked fire exits, build up of combustibles, unsafe storage etc.). Fire Officers will also respond to and deal safely with any fire alarm actuations or fire incidents. All firefighting equipment and related alarm systems are tested on a daily basis and regular inspection patrols carried out to ensure safety procedures and equipment remain in place. Fire Officers will also carry out questioning of staff to ensure knowledge of emergency procedures as set down in the venue safety certificate.

Pre-event survey

Prior to any event Fire Officers will carry out a survey of the venue to ensure alarm systems are operable, extinguishing media is in place and emergency exits are available and unlocked before members of the public are allowed on to the site.

Post-event action

All Fire Officers will take notes of any actions taken and defects located during an event. These will be collated and provided to the venue management to be used in a debrief to highlight any improvements necessary for future events.
